Cloudways is consistently cheaper because you're buying managed cloud compute, not a specialist WordPress platform. WP Engine's premium covers WordPress-specific tooling, staging workflows, and WordPress-expert support.
Platform Focus
WP Engine is built around WordPress. Its workflows, support model, caching, staging, and restrictions all assume WordPress is the product. Good for teams that want fewer choices and more guardrails.
